I have a one-way cable modem - 28.8 upstream and cable down - and I was
wondering if it is necessary to use the core.ini when racing (not
hosting) GPL online.  I feel that if I use it (with Alison's settings)
the cars I'm racing against will not be as smooth.  Is this true?

The point of the core.ini (84/3 settings) is to not overtax the host so
more people can join and have smooth connections.  I assume that if you
grab more data more often, you are taxing the host and are thus robbing
others who join of the precious bandwidth they may need to stay
connected and stable.

Thanks.  I plugged in the 84/3 settings last night and didn't notice a
difference.  I was getting some "clock smashing" this morning, though.  I
recall a setting that will poll the server to keep the clocks synch'd
more often (I'll have to look for this one).  If I add that line will I
mess anyone else up?
