ok, i'm officially jealous of all of you folks running GPL with FF. Some
friends of mine tried to help out at my birthday by giving me an InterAct V4
that they bought at The Wiz.... it just doesn't cut it for GPL (though it'd
probably be ok for NFS or other arcade racers if anyone wants to buy it from
me before we try the painful return process.... it was only used for like 10
min.) they all commented on how odd it was to get a toy for someone's 24th
birthday, but what the heck... (the only difference between men and boys
being, of course, the price of their toys).

ok- to the point- i'm 99% convinced i want the wingman formula force. the
best deal i've seen on it is $121 at eCOST.com- with free shipping. (it was
like $112 from buy.com or something but they wanted $20+ for shipping, so
this was a bit better).

has anyone seen a better deal? any especially good/bad experiences with
eCOST? (i've never used them before).

does anyone want to convince me to get the ACT labs wheel? i was very
interested in the CPU cost #s that Randy posted, but now maybe ACT is just
as good with the USB deal?

Well, I just paid $179.99 ($191.69 after Ne sales tax.) for Logitech
Formula Force at Best Buy yesterday. OUCH! I just may go to the web
and search for one-- with that kind of savings. BTW, the box seems to
be designed for rough handling with a 1" to 1 1/2" air gap on the
sides between the outer sides and the "goodies" inside. I would think
it has a chance of coming through shipping ok. I like my Logitech
wheel connected to USB, see the "GPL 1.1 Logitech setting help" post
and follow-up. I have no experience with e-Cost or the ACT wheel.

A follow-up to my post just above, a reply to the original post.
I recieved my LWFF wheel from eCost last Wed. 7-14 (been a little busy
since then) :) The "store" box was in a heavy "shipping" box, no
damage to the inside. It came Fedex Expressaver in 2 days. This was
better that the ground service they indicated the "free shipping"
would be. I'm very happy with eCost.
