I've reached some personal landmarks in the last week:

Silverstone - sub 1:30

Monza - sub 1:29

the 'Ring - sub 9:00

The one that felt 'best' was Silverstone; an admittedly scrappy lap, but I
never thought I'd break 1:30.....it felt MUCH better than when I broke 1:30
at Monza!

Now if I could just reach a sub 8:30 at the 'Ring.....

I like Silverstone - I think it gets a bit of a raw deal in the circuit
stakes. With a nicely set up car, you can oversteer most of the way :-)

Congratulations Craig!

Your landmarks surprise me. Not themselves but rather combination of
them. When I've managed to go sub 1:29 at Monza my 'Ring times
were below 8:20 and my Silverstone times around that time
were sub 1:28. If you practice these tracks a bit more you'll
probably get big improvement.

Good luck,
Alex.

Congrats. Silverstone was a nice one for me to crack. Now all I have
to do is practice Rouen a bit more...

Ugh.  I *hate* that track.  I ran a league race this past saturday.  I was
about 8 seconds per lap off the pace.<shudder>  To show you how bad it was, I
got lapped.  Near the end of the lap(Scierie) the leader spun.  I checked the
replay after the race.  Even with me holding him up for part of the
lap(unintentionally), and his spin, he was STILL 2 seconds faster than my fast
lap in that race!<sigh>

LOL - hey, you've still got better times than me at a few tracks, the
Ring in particular. I need to get more consistency to be able to hold
a decent lap together there. 9 seconds off the St Eldred's cup and
working at it!

I've cleared my records file.  I think some of those laps were either warp or
speedshifting.  I can't even get CLOSE to some of those times now.  I'm going
back through driving as if I were racing.  No speedshifting, etc.  After I run
enough laps to get a rank, I'll upload again.  Is the site working again yet?
I'm guessing I'll probably be about 20 seconds slower across all 11 tracks.
That would put me at about +36.

I'm sure you'll surprise yourself, I never thought I'd get close to
some of my times but I'm always able to get close or beat them with a
bit of practice. Except my 1:30 at Monaco, that was a bit of a fluke
:D

GPLRank is still going at http://newgplrank.schuerkamp.de/ I was
wondering why it had been so long since you'd updated.
