XP Firewall. Ugh. I think rFactor MP is pretty smooth, at least it always
has been for me. I agree on the cars, however. I never liked the idea of
upgrading, and you never know what different people have for upgrades. If
you stick to the trainers (which has but one performance upgrade), you're
pretty safe. F3 is also pretty safe. Individual servers can restrict cars
but there's no way to restrict upgrades.
I like the way GTL is. With the Dedicated Server, you can say which cars
exactly can participate, and since there are no upgrades to the individual
cars, everyone is on an even plane. It's all driving and set up, as it
should be.
Since GTL, rFactor is getting absolutely no playing time for me. I'm
strictly GTL. MP is fine and I enjoy the career mode. I still can't
understand why anyone would just allow all the cars in a GTL MP race.
Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
