Why GT3 talk??

Why seems people to so interestet in GT3 from playstation2? My son has this
arcade game, and I don't think it is a racingsimulator at all. Nice graphics
on telly (640x480), but no***pit-view, and the cars phsycics is not THAT
good.
It is a fun game to relax to, but it is NOT a sim like GP3 or F1 2001 or
Rally Trophy!

Not quite a sim, but pretty close all the same. And it lasts forever. And
it's beautiful. And it's possibly the best video game ever made.
And.........etc

I can't really compare it to F1 2001 or Rally Trophy like you did. The
reason for that, is I play those two games sitting infront of a FF Wheel and
pedals. I (like most everyone) play GT3 sittin' on the couch with friends
with a gamepad in my hand.

If I was playing Rally Trophy on the couch with a gamepad, I wouldnt' call
it much of a sim either..

Well, it is a pretty good balance between fun and seriousness.  Plus, it has
a good numbers of cars.

If your FF wheel is a Logitech, plug that sucker into the PS2's USB and try
it then.  The red FF wheel and the first blue ones (the GT3 edition) are
identical to the computer - they both show up as blue wheels on PS2 and red
wheels on a PC.  Don't know about the yellow non-FF wheel, or the new blue
wheel (which looks/feels like a piece of junk anyway).

The programmers did an excellent job with writing the controls...then again,
they did also have a GT3 steering wheel coming out, so they knew what they
had to work with, heh...

Can't tell you how good this is to hear - maybe I'm alone in this, but not
having any kids to "blame" the purchase of a PS 2 on, I think my wife
would take a dim view of a PS-2 in the house to play GT3 as well as
an expensive PC upstairs used for GP3 and GPL.

Now, if only they'r rebrand the Playstation as a "2nd Generation DVD
player" or something.
