It seems to me that smoke effects in racing sims has a reputation for
being for wusses or wimps. I have read several different posts which say
that all graphics details are on except for smoke, and some say it is
for wimps or wusses. Am I missing something 'cause I think smoke effects
are cool.

I think it's the fact that smoke and dust effects use up a lot of processor
power. Ever notice how your frame rate drops when you have dirt or smoke in
your field of vision?

warning when there was an incident on the track ahead.  Even with N2, it at
least helps you find the spinning car(s) quicker(nevermind the spotter yelling,
"GO HIGH!')

feel so 'out in the dark'
