Why do they have "Monsoon" rain tires in F1 if they never race in
Monsoon condtions? (Hint: Pace Car).

It's a "safety" issue.  They use those grooved tires to try and bring the
speeds down...

According to the Speedvision announcers, the Bridgestone engineers said
even
a 'monsoon' tire cannot work properly in the SE Asia Monsoon conditions.
But travel expenses aside...this really begs another question.  Why, after
the
disaster at England last year...do the schedulers insist on having races out
of
season in most of the Southern Hemisphere???

There's only one reply to this question.  The politicians answer.

"That's a very good question Dave.  Why don't you tell me why and I'll tell
you if you're right."
