ADVERTI***T

Greetings all.  This is to let everyone know that Battlefield
Communicator V1.0 was released on November 1, 1998.
Our extensive public beta (involving over 9000 users) has
come to an end and the software has gone gold!  You
can pick up a free demo on our website at:
http://www.racesimcentral.net/

Battlefield Communicator is a real-time voice communication
package designed and optimized for use  with multiplayer
games.  Designed to work with existing and future multiplayer
games such as Quake 2, Rainbow Six, StarCraft, flight
simulators and many other games, it brings multiplayer
*** to the next level!

FEATURES:

1. NO SERVER REQUIRED - You can host a peer to peer
2 player session with another Battlefield Communicator
    client without a dedicated server.
2. SELECTABLE COMPRESSION TYPE - You can choose
between several different compression types to suit
your particular connection.  Do you have a high speed
connection?  Use GSM for better than phone quality voice
connection.  Got a 28.8 Modem?  Use Modem Optimized
for nearly phone quality speech.  How about a LAN
connection?  Use ADPCM for excellent speech quality
    and extremely low latency.
3. CONFIGURABLE ADAPTIVE BUFFERING - Adaptive buffering
automatically adjusts to match changing Internet connection
quality, giving you a clear, unbroken signal even under the
    worst conditions.
4. ZERO BANDWIDTH SILENCE - When you're not speaking,
the software doesn't send anything!  Zero bandwidth for silence!
5. 15 PLAYER CONFERENCES - With a dedicated server
you can host up to 15 players, NOW.   This will be scaled
in the future to support many more players.  Central
server design provides for scalability to massively
multiplayer environments.  Don't be fooled by the name -
there's no reason you need to dedicate a whole machine
to a server, especially if it's only hosting a few players.
6. SERVER DOESN'T REQUIRE SOUNDCARD - The
Battlefield Communicator Dedicated Server does not
require a soundcard, and can run on Windows NT 4.0
    with Service Pack 4.
7. FIXED BANDWIDTH/CPU USAGE - As the number of
players in a session increase, your CPU and bandwidth
DON'T.  Only the server requires increased bandwidth/
CPU as the number of users increase.
8. NO SECOND SOUNDCARD REQUIRED - Sounds from
Battlefield Communicator will be mixed seamlessly with your
    game audio.
9. CONFIGURABLE VOICE ACTIVATION - Voice activation
allows the software to transmit only when you're speaking.  Push
to talk functionality will be available in Version 1.01.
10. EXTENSIVE ON-LINE MANUAL - A detailed on-line manual
includes step-by-step instructions for using the software and
troubleshooting any problems you may have.
11. EASY TO USE INTERFACE - Easy-to-use interface featuring
wizards to help guide you through the setup process.  Context
sensitive help is available for all dialogs, screens and error
      messages.
12. VOICE PROMPTS - Verbal prompts allow you to get feedback
on program status without interrupting your game.
13. TIME TESTED/USER PROVEN - Tested over and over
again with over 9000 beta testers over a period of several
months.  Result is reliable, robust software.
14. AUTO-UPDATE NOTIFICATION - Automatic notification of
new versions as they become available.
15. MULTI-PROTOCOL SUPPORT- Support for both the TCP/IP
       and IPX protocols.
16. MULTI-SOUNDCARD SUPPORT - Support for systems with
more than one soundcard.  You can independently choose
which devices are used for playback and which for recording.
17. MULTI-HOMED SUPPORT - Built in support for systems with
       more than one TCP/IP interface.
18. EXTENSIVE CONFIGURATION OPTIONS - Extensive
configuration options available directly from the Interface.
19. GAME COMPATIBLE - Works with virtually every game
that uses DirectSound.  Built in GameLink database
allows user to add support for new games as they
are released.  Drop by our Software Compatibility
