My local store now say on good authority that the release will be 14th
July in the UK (was 28th of june last week)
.

Maybe the fact that the British Grand Prix  is that week has something
to do with it. Please e-mail if  you know different.

I can confir that Grand Prix 2 will be released on the 15th July to
co-incide with the British GP - A deliberate marketing move by Microprose
to sell more copies when interest in the sport is at it's peak in this
country.

Why 14th? Not mnay stores open all day Sunday for the rush to
buy. Wouldn't Wed 10th or Friday 12th make more sense, as the
hype is building up for the weekend of qualifying and the race
itself?

I'm still hearing the odd rumour that GC has "left" MPS - if so,
hope he got a sizeable golden handshake for all the effort he put
in despite SH/MPS marketing shambles.

15th July, thats a Monday. Seems a bit of a strange day !. Why not release
it on the 12th, a Friday. Practice begin then, as then qualifying !!.
Seems a bit daft to keep changing dates and its pi**ing off various shops,
such as HMV and ***.

I hope its worth the wait.

Crammond has _never_ been employed by MPS. He's effectively a
*** programmer whose stuff has been published by
SH-MPS. Presumably he's signed away his soul to MPS at least for GP2
and couldn't find another publisher now without tying himself and the
game up in legal red tape until the end of eternity.

Pity really.

If GP2 is being released to coincide with the British Grand Prix, I
wonder if we in the states will have problems getting it.  Does that
mean I will have to go to some obscure software store at 0030 to find a
copy that will be shortened because, in Bob Varsha's words "due to time
constraints, we join the action later on in the race".  I don't want to
start the French GP, only to have my race accelerated and run at normal
speed somewhere near the end.  Oh, woe to those whose nefarious cable
systems don't offer ESPN2.

I would have thought that most people who are going to buy the game
already know about it, so it doesn't really matter if it is released at a
time of the British Grand Prix. I suppose they think that if Hill wins,
Brundle second Herbert third, Mansell does a comeback and comes in fourth
there will be more people buying the game...NOT.

The Game will be sold for the first time at a stand at the GP on the
race day (that's the latest info) , could change though.

Is that the latest news _before_ the news that they would be showing the
game at the stand but not selling it, or _after_ it?

Still, I'll be there on Friday, just in case!
