NSR Multiplayer, worth buying?

NSR Multiplayer, worth buying?

I want to get the opinion on the multiplyer component of NSR.  I don't
care for the offline game, multiplayer racing is where its at.  So I
don't want to shed out the cash, to find the online game bites.

NSR Multiplayer, worth buying?

Why should you get off so much 'easier' than I (we) did...  <G>

if your that tight about money, Id wait until the patches, plus by then
probably 25 bucks versus 45?

But if you are kinda like me, I like to have the newest to allow myself to
struggle with it at same time when everyone else is, and the postings (here
and or anywhere) are timely and are more on topic, so to speak.  That is,
instead of later when I have to google the newsgroups for the answers to
what
we all did back when the game came out, but wont recall everything we ever
read, or as in some cases, websites fold or what-not...  Its still your
call.

I like the multi aspect, but again the people I like to hang with use
wheels, NO Driving aids, and alas no matter what, throngs of online idiots
ruin even the best online games. yeah there are bugs, & stuff that doesn't
work 'right' compared to what we're used to, but it aint all bad.

LOL...

No, the online really stinks right now, wait till they patch it. Cars warp
all over the place, I can't even play with one buddy of mine and 9 other AI
cars, and we both have 3meg Cable.., We can and have been running for years
the Papy sims with all 41 other AI cars without any problems. If they can
fix the muti-player and a few other issues they will have a winner.  It also
stinks you have to log into there servers, to even do a direct IP connect.

All I can say is, Wow about your experiences.

I would no more host my own game with my tiny upload bandwidth, dont know if
exxtractor will either?   FWIW,  I did host a time or two, when I was on
cable with papy's tittle.  I could only have <18 cars on it at the time.

FWIW, I have 1.5 down, 256 up, and everyone I been talking or readin
about, are meeting at a dedicated (read that as OLR or another server than
has great bandwidth, like flog or ??) it hasn't seemed to me to have been
near as bad as you say, again your expectations are higher than mine, and
can you be sure your machine can do both really well?  I would suggest that
if your trying to host, drive, and also include 'AI cars' from your one
*** machine, i too would bet that it sucks badly.

Everywhere I have read, by server operators like you know, due to reports
out by the FLOG.com dude, and others......  where the server without problem
could run 3-4 instances of Papy NRxx, not all running 'full' at once mind
ya, the NSR is taxing the hell out of  the same servers.  This is with just
one instance of NSR, and without being anywhere near full in that session.

For a guy like me, the casual online player (a few buddies, nothing
major *** serious league stuff) it is just fine.  I have done
quite a bit of testing so far, and for my low car number needs, its
more than enough.  Plus, you can actually bump draft and not fly 12,000
feet into the air.... :)

I'm going to wait right now, I'm not interested in hosting a race, and
racing a friend against AI cars.  I'd rather have a field of 40 real
drivers that 5 real drivers and the rest AI.  If you guys are getting
waring on the servers I'll wait till they issue a few patches for
multiplayer than buy the game, like I said I have no interest in
racing AI cars.
