Hey Music Gurus,

I use to be a avid downloaded of "smooth jazz" from MP3.com but now it
appears to be "Play Only" or "Pay to Download".

I enjoy unknown artists who would market their songs on MP3 for Free
Download but things have changed. Can someone email me some suggestions on
how to get some Smooth Jazz MP3's.

Any suggestions ???

May I recommend shoutcast.com. They have streaming mp3's (like a radio
station with no dj's or commercials) with a large selection of 'stations'
many of which are jazz.
*note* you can't record the streams for copyright reasons, but as always,
some of the more clever ones have created tools to circumvent this.

nothing to do with oyu in particular tim...

But in this NG you will have a lot of oiutraged cries about piracy and "well
go to the shops and buy it" and all sort of crap...

So personnaly for the little files (audio) I like winmx at www.winmx.com
for the big files (movies and the rest) I like www.edonkey2000.com

now you also have the gnutella stuff with gnotella or limewire (I let you
guess the urls) or the morpheus and kazaa things, but I always get the best
results with winmx and edonkey.

PS for all the outraged "law-abiding" guys grand prix is available on
edonkey....ahhh, did I see a glimpse of interest there ?

Speaking of MP3's... Is there anyone out there that knows how to create
MP3's? or even better yet, someone who does this for a living? I'm looking
for someone who is willing to volunteer some time and resources to a good
cause.

can tape freely for your own use. Same with movies on TV and cable. I see
this as a bit different than software...<g> I don't see anything wrong with
downloading mp3's.

I don't think anybody "does MP3's" for a living Michael ;-)

There are many utilities that can convert .wav files or other audio files
into MP3 files. Some of them are powerful, others have a nice and slick
gUI, etc.. I personally use RightClick-MP3, a powerful application that
lets you convert wav files simply by double-clicking any .wav files in your
explorer window. It starts it's excellent DOS encoder. Or else, you can
find plenty of similar software at sites like download.com, especially if
you use newer OS.
