Yet another T2 question

Hello.

I have the T2 and have been fairly happy with it. With a joystick I was
slamming the walls all the time, Now I only tap them about every third
lap(OK so my driving still needs work). My question is this. I am using
my T2 through a sound blaster card. I was told this may cause problems
in the performance of the T2. Does anyone know if this may cause the T2
to perform slightly lower than par ? I have never had a dedicated
joystick card so I know nothing about them. The T2 also says in the
manual that it may not run correctly on a 486 or better without a
joystick card. If anyone knows anything about either, please post a
reply or e-mail me

Thanks
John

There are two questions that should be answered when trying to determine if
your current gameport is adaquate for your current joystick/steering
wheel/pedals/program combination.

The first question is does the program have a joystick calibration and was
it successful?  Some programs don't have calibration routines that worked
across a lot of different speed processors.  The Papyrus sims don't seem to
have this problem but if you have a game that doesn't calibrate, then a new
speed sensing gameport card should solve this problem.

The second question is do the values returned by the calibration provide
enough range for the program to use.  For instance, if your joystick
calibration values were 2 for full left, (5 for center,) and 8 for full
right, then I believe this would not be suitable for use in NASCAR/ICR2 (but
might be fine for DOOM).  If the range was 14 - 527, then it should be fine.
If the range is too small, then a new gameport might solve this problem.

I have found that a range of less than 100 doesn't provide me with the
sensitivity I need to run my fastest at Taladega.  I have experimented
with the Serpent VRC-1 and my R/C transmitter that allows me to adjust
the end-points.  I was 1-3 MPH faster with the largest range possible.

I'm still experimenting, but I think I'm still a little faster with my
T2.

I have never had a dedicated

I use the T2 with my SB32 PnP and it works fine.  I have used it for up
to 15 hours straight, and had no problems
