Perhaps, but what does it have to do with sim racing?
Obviously, he was trying to avoid e-mail responses by
entering an incorrect e-mail address.

1) I don't believe, Rik is a spammer. If you lose 50K or so because of
GM's stupidity and arrogance, you have all the rights to x-post your
experience and complains to car newsgroups. Further, Rik's page has
no
commercial content. Visiting it, you will see his valid data.
   Spam is:
      a) totally unrelated
      b) commercial
      c) annoying
and often criminal. Spammers like to hide themself.

   Rik is:
      a) Cadillac collector
      b) Posting some (valid looking) complains to car newsgroups
      c) involved probably in some software business, as his E-Mail
does suggest it - but he never ever mentioned any business
activity (with the exception of buying a Caddy for himself
         from a car dealer).

   Judge it.

2) I agree, GM's customer service has to be improved. I had a '95 Chevy
Lumina and one of the reasons I was happy to get rid of this car was
GM's customer unservice. (Ok, I got what I paid for: basically OK,
cheapo car with some bugs, rude dealer service, silly customer
service).
True, Chevrolet customer service is probably much worse, than of
Cadillac.
But as I had some questions to the GM Overseas Central Office, I
found
   them extremly unhelpful as well.
On the other side: we discovered electrical problems in my wife's
Mitsu-
bishi Diamante Wagon a few weeks aftter we bought the car (during in-
stallation of aftermarket remote). Sure enough, Mitsu did not pay us
for
the installation itself, but they let the dealer fix the problem (the
car was wired by mistake for non- U.S. delivery) for free and we got
a free rental car (Nissan Altima) for the time the dealer got all the
documentation (3 weeks!!!) he needed to fix this problem. After it
was
fixed, the car runs (unlike Chevy) without any complains.
The joke is, I bought '95 Chevy for 17.5K, '95 Diamante for 21K - and
the
difference of the quality between of them is at least 10K, if not
more.
   Sorry, Detroit!

3) Who ever wrote ("Jason LeBouef"):

"Does that include the warranty on my 64 Beetle?  GET LOST SPAMMER!"

had obviously no time/mood to read Rik's page. He has to learn some
proper manners, too. Internet shouldn't be the place for such
offensive
responses. Jason, please learn, how to speak/ write.
No, Jason, don't even try to send me an offensive E-mail. If you do
so,
you have to face some consequences. Even after first offense:
    -  I will contact your Provider (EarthLink Network, Inc) with a
complain
    -  You are automaticly acknowledging, that I have a legitime demand
against
you of NOT LESS, than $1000 compensation
    -  You are automaticly acknowledging, that you are ready to defend
yourself
in the Court of the county of MY residence (Santa Clara, CA).

I suggest to close this path and who consider Rik's complain to be of a
valid
nature, please write a booo-booo E-Mail to Cadillac. I did. No, I don't
know
Rik. I have no idea, who is he. But I feel bad for him - and esp. that
some
people flamed him so badly on the Net (shame on them!)

rec.autos.makers.vw,rec.autos.makers.vw.aircooled,rec.autos.makers.vw.watercooled,rec.autos.marketplace,
rec.autos.misc,rec.autos.rod-n-custom,rec.autos.simulators

Of these, only rec.autos.marketplace was relevant.

I question the "legitimacy" of his complaint.  He bought a Cadillac in the
US and registered in Belgium, and he's upset because Cadillac won't honor
the warranty.

Since the warranty says clearly that it is not valid under that
circumstance, why SHOULD they honor it?

If GM's policy was different in that regard from other manufacturers, he
might have at least some cause for dissatisfaction, but Ford and Chrysler
have the same policy, and if I recall correctly the same is true of most
imports sold in the US.

He should have read the terms of the warranty _before_ he bought the car.

And it's spam because he's posting it in newsgroups which are not
frequented by anybody who gives a hoot in Hell about GM's warranty.

And crossposted to hell. Only one newsgroup he posted to has anything
to do with the subject. I own a VW. I will never own another american
car anyway. Why has he posted this in rec.autos.makers.vw.watercooled?

Maybe if Rik had looked at the warantee before he bought the car, he
would have noticed that his car would not be covered if he exported
it. GM did nothing sneaky or underhanded. There is no excuse for not
reading a legal document before you sign it.

I also hate users who post information like this stating that this is
how ALL GM service is.  It is based on HIS experience and the other
guy's.  The other guy should have paid attention.

The service and support I've received for 12 years now is top notch and
I would never compare apples to oranges.  Maybe the Mitsubishi was
better to HIM.  The Mitsu-bashy's I've seen are quite the opposite, BUT
I state that it is MY opionion only.
