gt2 on ps2

Well, I went out and bought a PS2 with Gran Turismo 3.  I'm still married.
My wife was pissed off, but I saw her jaw drop when she saw a replay on the
TV.

GT3 is great.  Is there any reason to buy GT2?  It seems to have muscle cars
in it, which I love.  Does it look any better on the PS2 than PS1?  It's
kind of pixelated on that platform.  Does the PS2 do anything to enhance the
resolution of PS1 games?

It apparently does but not markedly so in my opinion. It'll still look
excessively pixelated and doesn't hold a candle graphically to GT3.

Cheers,
Rod.

Don't buy it unless you get it used for < $10.  Not only is it pixelated,
but ithe framerate is pretty bad too.  GT2 rally races suck as well. The
only good point in the game is the 600+ cars, and a few other tracks (Red
Rocks and Autumn Ring in particular).

If you do want to go dredging back into the PS1 racing titles though, you
cannot go wrong with any of the following:

- Jarrett and Labonte Stock Car Racing (TOCA: World Touring Cars outside of
US).  I bought this game on a whim and it is still my favorite racing game
(topping even GT3).
- Colin McRae Rally 2
- Touring Car Championship (TOCA 2 outside of the US)

Hey, wait a minute... these are all CodeMaster games!  You can't go wrong
with any of them, and you can get them all for < $20.

Stick with GT3.  GT2 was good for it's time, but won't come near as close to
GT3 in terms of graphics, realism, etc.  It's amazing ain't it?  Still makes
my jaw drop 4 months later.
