Anyone else getting the error "SERVER RETURNED EXTENDED INFORMATION" from
EA.COM when you try to download NASCAR Revolution Demo?
(what does that error mean anyway?!)

Are you using IE?...Try using the Shift key, and clicking on the download.

Cheers!

Are you using MSIE for a web browser? it usually delivers that cryptic
error when an FTP server has reached it's user limit. If you're gonna
be downloading stuff from a web browser, i strongly suggest getting
Get Right or another download management utility. That way it will
attempt to connect until it gets in. You can also resume broken
downloads (comp freeze, disconnected by provider, etc) that way.

As an afterthought, don't bother with the Nascar Revolution demo. If
you want a cool arcade racer, try Powerslide.
Cheers,
Chris

Or right clicking on the link and choosing "save target as"

It means that your http-based web browser is trying to implement the ftp
protocol and can't understand what the ftp server is saying in reponse to
the request for the file.  Whenever I see a downloadable link to anything of
any substantial size and it is prefaced with  ftp://  I just start up a real
ftp program (like WS-FTP Pro) and navigate to the same URL as the file to
download.  You can often find lots of other good stuff in the ftp directory
of the company offering the download.  Depending on the server software
used, you can also frequently resume broken downloads, which you cannot do
in a web browser.

Old browser trick for grabbing files.
