F1 2002 - where to find good setups?

by Sven » Fri, 14 Jun 2002 13:38:03

The default setups that come with the game are bad in my opinion, so was the
default setup in F1 2001. I would like to have a link to some good setups
for F1 2002.
I'm not an engineer, and I don't want to spend hour after hour to find a
setup for each track. I want to race!! And I know that others are better to
find a good ground-setup for each track, so I only have to adjust very
little.

Will someone post a link, please?

My first 3 guesses would be simbin.com  and F1 Relay and Gamespy...that
and check the regular racing sites like Blackhole Motorsports...

And that I have done before asking here. Nothing about setups on 2002 (yet).
So no more guesses, please.

How 'bout mentioning the spots you've ruled out before asking where to find
things then, o'gracious one... ;-)

They may not have them up yet but www.simbin.com and
www.redlineracing.com will be the most likely places to find them once
some have been worked out.  Be patient, the game hasn't been out that
long!  ;o)

I finally got the game.  I noticed that there are two setups for
available for every track, one is called "grip" and the other is called
by the name of the track.  So for Spain, for example, there would be a
"spain/grip" and a "spain/spain" setup.  The few "grip" setups that I
tried were horrible.  The setups that use the track name are not so bad,
just a bit pushy.  Did you try those?  They should suffice until some
better ones become available.  Right now for most of the tracks, I was
able to take the "trackname" setup, move the spring and bar balance and
the brake bias just slightly rearward, and get a setup that I felt quite
comfortable with, and that produced fairly good looking tire temps.
