sequel so closely. The usual gap is 9 months or a year isnt it? (or 4
years in the case of a cutting edge game thats totally rewritten from
the ground up. Sarcasm.)
So lemme get this straight- Hasbro is going to generously offer us a
chance to spend another $50 before Christmas on a sequel to GP3?? I
for one want to commend them in advance for this brilliant marketing
strategy; at this rate, by the time the Hasbro F1 license expires in
2002 they will have made about $500 selling GP2(with rain) clones to
me. Not bad!
My only stipulation is that I demo the game before I buy it. I think
thats fair. After all, PC demo's are not exactly a novelty these days,
and a demo is a good way to generate positive publicity and
(especially) suggestions from loyal users about a game before the final
release. Ok? No? No demo? Thats ok. But its almost funny the way EA
Sports
forced ISI to rush F12000 in order to beat GP3 to market, and now the
way Hasbro will fling another F1 sequel out the door in time for
Christmas shopping. I think Hasbro executives must have blanched when
Geoff Crammond told them he would need '4 Christmases' of time to
sequel GP3. They showed Geoff the money and he reconsidered.. 'maybe 4
*months* will be enough time, not 4 years.'
