Wheel ?

I recently purchased the MS FF wheel.  Although I haven't used it
alot with sims the one time, so far, that I've tried it with GPL the
handling was greatly improved.  I like that the wheel goes beyond 180
degrees of rotation.  I don't like that the wheel is rather small.
The pedals are very nice.  The problem with the brake pedal being too
easy to press is easilly fixed by adding 1/2 a squash ball, see
previous posts, under the pedal.  The feel with that change is very
good.  The pedal base slides on carpet very easily.  It's very solid
on a piece of wood tho and if you can keep the wood from sliding that
solves that.

   Hope that helps.

Wheel ?

I replaced my F1 SIM with a MS FF wheel in order to get dual axis pedals +
avoid the wheel slipping out of calibration. The wheel is nice once you get
used to the centering force, but the pedals are nowhere near as good as the
F1 SIM - much less travel and not as much  feel/resistance (even with the
squash ball - I tried). The company that originally designed the F1SIM has
reacquired the license and now provide an upgrade package for dual axis
pedals, a much improved steering mechanism + a service. They can be found at
http://www.interactiveracing.com

I sold my MS wheel and got my F1SIM upgraded - my lap times came down
straight away on GPL.

Wheel ?

I am currently using my MSFF wheel with the split axis pedals from
digital edge f1 sim using the single gameport on my SBlive and it all
works perfectly, except to have split axis pedals FF has to be
disconnected which hasn't been a problem until gpl 1.1 comes out.
Just needed to make up a little splitter cable and use a little util
called rbfix. I also have the option to use all 4 pedals now, although I
don't.
Its great having a wheel that is perfectly calibrated all the time, no
problems with dirty pots, and an excellent set of large all metal pedals
which certainly don't need any squash balls under them.
My pedals are the original f1sim pedals but I should imagine the wiring
is the same as yours.

and you can easily incorporate a switch from 11 on gameport to either 6
on pedals or 11 on ff so you can switch between split pedals and no ff
or single axis with ff.
feel free to ask any questions (if I can help I will)
