I've decided to buy a new PC.  Which would you get if your only goal
was to run simulators like ICR: 486-DX50 or 486-DX2-66?  (I am quite
aware of the difference between them, I just don't know how the apps
use the systems.)   How about graphics boards?

I'm sure my daughter has her own requirements but hey, I'm buying, and
they're probably less stringent than this anyway :-)

Get the dx2-66.  The benchmarks are faster than that of the dx50 even with
the slower bus speed.  I have one and it is truly great!
