After playing for a couple of hours, I think that maybe the use of a button
vs. pedals for throttle and brake is not a bad choice. The throttle in a
dragster really is more of an on/off switch than something that you normally
"modulate". Also, with my TSW wheel, I'd hate to think what would happen to
my reaction time if I had to take off by pressing the pedal. They have too
long a travel, I'd probably shove them through the back of my desk, and
maybe break them after a few dozen starts! The button works much better in
this case. I suspect that the testers found this out as well and that's why
the pedals are currently not operative.

As far as brakes, you might normally use varying pressure on them, but since
they aren't really part of the race and all you have to do is get stopped
somehow then what's the difference?

BTW, I used to drive an A/FD in the Pro Comp class a number of years ago.
Overall, this sim is really impressive to me for the look and feel of
driving a dragster. The steering is still too twitchy for me, but I'll
continue to fiddle with the settings.
