Title says it all.  Does this say something about the patch
progress...assuming they are waiting to do the NA release with the patch?

I know where to order things online.  My point was what is the release delay
about?

Well, considering I have a review copy of the game sitting on my desk at home,
I'm not sure why they're waiting until the second of January for release. That's
when it's listed on the EBGames site: Jan 2, 2002. http://www.ebgames.com

This isn't just a gold CD either, it looks like the final shipping disc. I did
NOT get a manual with it though so maybe it's just a production thing. All the
publishers rush to get their games out this time of year and maybe JoWood
couldn't come up with the resources to manufacture and distribute the game until
then?

It's worth waiting for though. This is great stuff. I've seen the complaints
about short courses and the driving model being "off" for some of the cars but
I'm having a super time with the game. It's got a great feel. It's certainly
somewhere between arcade and sim while leaning more toward the sim side. It's
absolutely gorgeous too. I've got an Athlon 1700+, 512MB RAM and a GeForce2 GTS.
I can crank everything up and maintain a perfectly smooth framerate and there's
just GOBS of detail.

Let's hope Jan 2nd is right for yours and everyone else in the US' sake. :)
