Ok,
As many of you may recall I had written to Sierra about the
problem myself and some others who contacted me were having with the
ai cars coming down into you when you hold the low line even if you
are a fender ahead of them.
Then I had written to let them know that at the time all I had
installed was the 2 patches that they wrote back telling me to use to
fix the problem. (to which *some* great wit out there replied to me
with "your point is") Well, Duh, read the message, They had suggested
that to fix it I do what I had just told them was all I had done.
So at that point they write back telling me to s***it and do a fresh
clean install and only apply one patch, the (supposed) new one called
n2pat0 (for my cd setup file date) and that will fix everything. "oh"
they said, "Don't apply *any* other patches cause that's what's
messing you up." Well, so much for the ai patch from the Pits and
others I thought.
So I go through all the headaches again of reinstalling, downloading
the "new" wonderful patch, getting everything configured again,
applied the patch and immediately got on the email because......
As I told them, The filenames, sizes, dates etc. are exactly the same
as all the stuff from the old 2 patch setup!! Gee, I really expected
that to fix it. Well, guess what, it didn't fix a damn thing. Same
problems as before.
SO I wrote to them with the little tidbit that the new patch is
nothing more than a combining of the old patches that I had already
told them 2-3 times didn't work, and asked them if those of us with
this prob are just stuck with a $50 rearview mirror ornament, and if
Sierra just likes to make a habit out of defrauding the public by
marketing inferior products with no hope of support if it doesn't work
on your system which exceeds the recommended specs.
Now for their lovely reply which shows clearly that yes, we do own
some nice christmas tree decorations, perhaps they don't care what
they market, and that for those who have these ai probs, well, write
Read on for the reply I got today which has only taken a month and a
half to get to this stage:

Hello,
I'm sorry that fix didn't work for you; the patch was designed to
fix such problems, but the most common fix for a problem may not be
not
be the solution for all users. Unfortunately, AI programming is very
complex, and sometimes the AI cars will behave unpredictably,
especially
in multiplayer racing. As for the patch, the new patch file combines
the older 2 (nas2pat0 and nas2pat2) into one file; so many of the
patch
files are the same files from the original patch.
If you are unhappy with the design of the game, please email
our games.
*****/Tech Support (I remove name cause the guy does just work there)
end...............................................................
Gee, now why couldn't anyone have just told us we were screwed from
the beginning??????
And I thought owning an S10 pickup sucked.
Again, I ask. How many of you are experiencing these probs with the ai
that are fixable in a way that is legal to use for running in NASS.
Cause if you have the problem, and can't find a NASS legal aftermarket
patch, well folks, basically according to Sierra in not so many words,
You Be ***ed, Buy Our Next Overpriced Product And Maybe It Will
Work!!!!!
