World Cup Final .....England 20-Aus 17
A great final and a great English victory. I can't remember '66, so this is
the finest sporting moment I may ever get to watch. Fabulous game, and not
really very boring at all, eh ;) ? Heroic performances all over the place,
especially when Dawson surprised everybody by not passing to Jonny and
bursting down the middle to gain those crucial extra yards.
It was close, and the Aussie team must be congratulated on a truly great
performance. I thought they were going to steal the Cup from under our noses
when they were awarded a rather dubious penalty in the last minutes of
normal time.
