Those of you using my N3 SoundPak (from High Gear website:
www.simracingnews.com) have been sending me lots of email asking about the road
course soundpak.
It's almost done....I am testing one I like best right now......
It's got a little more "throaty" of an engine sound.....engine revs\rpms
are very distinguishable and gearshift sounds a little more "audible".....for
those 26 to 28 "shifts" per lap at Sears Point! There's some other "surprises"
in there too! (PS....just did an SCCA "GTA" race at Sears - these are kind of
like light WC cars - 2600 pounds before driver and fuel - with a spec - V8
engine for cost reduction - this really helped my "ear" for getting this road
course soundpak right!)
Also....for everyone.....I'm working on increasing the volume for the spotter's
voice. There's like 540 files....so it's taking time (doing them one file at a
time). I will release this work in the "Road Course" SoundPak...and replace the
Standard/Generic Track SoundPak (currently on the site) too! In the
meantime....go to the N3 Sound Forums on High Gear for a reasonably good "work
around" for the low volume of the spotters voice.
There's something like 13,000 downloads now of the HG N3SoundPak (in a week or
so)..... Wow!
And "no"......I'm not going to charge for this work....now or ever! The N3
SoundPaks at High Gear are "free" and will remain so as long as I'm doing them.
Good racing......
TP
PS: Look for me hosting Sears Point and Watkins Glenn "pickup" races online
(won.net) under "Pabst - Cable" usually every week night (7pm to 11pm Pacific
Daylight). I don't mind rookies in the race.....so long as you stay in the back
of the pack at starts (just take provisional starts if you want) and hold your
line when the leaders lap you (do not move....hold your line and we will go
around you where we want to....not where you "think" we want to)....... Several
of the top road course drivers will also help you with questions about "the
line"...or anything else. So...when there's time....catch us in the chat box
after the race.
