rF + 22" widescreen == wow!

Hi folks,

the 22" FSC scaleoview arrived in the mail today, and all I can say is,
wow. Good riddance to the last CRT getting decommissioned in our
household, while it's served me well, I prefer the 60 Watts in power
saving, and the awesome experience to actually having to turn your head
in order to look at all the track and***pit detail on this monster.

FPS hit isn't too bad (as DaveGF already hinted at) going from 1280x1024
to 1800x1050 or whatever, maybe 10--15 fps on most rf custom tracks on
the AGP x800 ATI GTO card.

Cheers & all the best, uwe

1680x1050 is a bit much for some games, depending on your video card and how
much video ram it has. You can run it at a lower res and it should still
look decent. Just find another 16:10 res that scales down well. Some
resolutions scale better than others. Try 1280x800. That res looks good on
my friend's 22" LCD.

Thanks for the report, Uwe.  I've got a nice 20" Trinitron, but those
big flatscreens are sooooo tempting.  It sounds like my X800XL just
might be able to drive one without too much performance loss.

Hum..... ;)

I run a Samsung 244T 24" widescreen with a native resolution of 1920 X 1200
and a PCI-E X850 XT does fine. I run it on two systems with my main ***
machine on the DVI input and the system with the X815 on the analog. My

X850 does quite well with FSX on medium graphics settings.
