Sorry! Looking to upgrade..off subject but figured best place for help

by MindSpring Use » Wed, 07 Oct 1998 04:00:00

I have P200 with 64 RAM and a old V1000 Rendition card with 4megs and a
3DBlaster 12meg Vodoo2.  A 12 speed CD rom and about 8 gigs of EIDE HD, and
a sound Blaster 32.  There are so many MB out there I don't know where to
start!  Has anyone tried a Tiger MB?  Tiger has P2 400Mhz processor for
599.99 is that a good price?  I'm ready to upgrade now!  Any help such as
suggestions on hardware or places to buy from would be greatly appreciated.
I'd like to try and get by with spending under $1000.00 for now.  Get the
rest around Christmas, remove spam to e-mail.
Thanks,

Chris Schlette

I hav the P2B, not P2B-S...but I'd go with the Abit BH6 and get a PCI SCSI
card simply for overclocking reason the Abit has a new feature that allows
you to bypass the internal multiplier on the P2 350/400s which leads to
better o/c than achievable with the P2B series.

I have decided to go with ASUS P2B-S. Mostly because its a good BX  MB and
it has built in SCSI that my drives use. I dont Know about the Tiger but its
sounds like a good price. PII should drop in price on Oct. 25 about $200 for
some speeds. I have a local computer shop that will assemble any system for
a good price. http://www.umiracle.com/
Good Luck,
Lou
