I know RAS is not really the place for this, but I've seen quite a few posts
from people who are to Brands for the event on July 3rd & 4th.

The printed programme says the main event is Thoroughbred Grand Prix Cars
(i.e. 1970's F1).
However, if you look at the Brands Hatch web-site
( www.brands-hatch.co.uk ), it now lists it as "60's F1 cars"

Hmm, shame to lose the 70's ones, but GPL era cars are gonna be even more
cool :-)

See you there!

Cars (i.e. 1970's F1).

I don't know about the 60s F1 cars but I know that the Thoroughbred GP
cars will still be racing on the 3rd/4th

The Thoroughbred GP championship is for pre 1984 non-turbo F1 cars. It
is an awesome series. There is likely to be a grid of around 30 70s/80s
F1 cars. This includes an assortment of Williams, lotus, Mclaren,
Shadows, Fittipaldi amongst others, and even a P34 6 wheel Tyrell.

Even if there are no 60s F1 cars (which there may well be)I would
recommend that ANY motorsport fan went along. A: because you'll never
get so close to f1 cars anywhere else and B: these guys race damned
hard! (they certainly aren't there just for a sunday drive). In a
lifetime of watching motorsport I can say that this is by far the most
exciting race series I have seen (and heard  :)

Keep and eye out for David Mercer in his ex Jaques Villeneuve Snr /
Eliseo Salazar / Kenneth Acheson  1983 RAM - March :)

Not a problem - in Autosport magazine the Thoroughbred race and the '60s
race are shown as a separate events.

And if that's not correct, I'd be willing to bet that what's on the
Brands site is incorrect. For example, they always list the BOSS Formula
as having cars from a decade earlier than it actually does, so they've
probably made the same mistake with the Thoroughbred series. The
Thoroughbred cars are definitely racing.

He he, looks like Mike is posting after the email I sent him :) when I
spotted this.

Mike, myself and a few of our mates went last year to it, and all I can say
that it was eff-ing brilliant (as a Ferrari fan, I was dooling over the
312T5 driven by Mike Littlewood).

As I've said in emails to my friends, I don't really care whether its 70's
or 60's F1. It will still be brilliant.

Anybody whos got an interest in historic F1 racing really should go to this
event!

See you all there.
