I have a ATI Rage Pro Turbo in a Compaq 4840 266 mhz puter.
I can't get this 3dfx patch to work at all. It comes up with something
like
cant load *.Dll or something like that. I tried in DOS and Windows.

Has anyone else tried this combination? If so would you sent me you
commands with anything
else that may help. I may be just doing something wrong.
Thanks
Dave

You didn't specify what type of 3dfx card you have. I assume you have one
hooked up with your ATi card?

It *MIGHT* be that it doesn't work because you DON'T HAVE A 3DFX CARD!!

:)

You do have a 3DFX card too, right? I had that error message under
Dos. I put the dll it requires in the N2 directory and it ran fine
thereafter.

Which .dll is that?  I'm having the same problem, but the error message
doesn't specify which .dll it's unable to load.  (And yes, I've got 3d
card -- a Diamond Monster.)  Thanks for any help.

The 3dfx patch wont work with a non-3dfx card like the ATI.

Sorry it's not a dll file. It's the glide2x.ovl file you need to put
there.

Ken I have the 3D RAGE PRO DISPLAY
And after researching the FAQ section I found the following and answered
my own question. The answer follows:

As ATI products are not based on graphics chipsets manufactured by 3DFX (i.e.
VOODOO or VOODOO
RUSH) they will not support applications requiring 3DFX GLIDE
drivers or those which are specifically
          written for 3DFX based cards.

ATI's 3D accelerators provide support for software utilizing
Microsoft's DirectX/Direct3D, OpenGL (under
Windows NT), or specifically designed for use with ATI's 3D RAGE
series chipsets. Most Windows 95
based software will provide support for DirectX/Direct3D in
addition to any support specifically for 3DFX
          products.

I want to thank everyone for there help and input.
Thanks
Dave
