A PROPERLY TUNED 20 year old car will run as clean as a new car. In
fact, I saw a write up in Car Craft a few years ago, which showed a 69
Camaro, with a 350, 6-71 blower and two four barrels, that ran CLEANER
than any new car on the market. Sounds like the government is
protecting the new car manufacturers to me.

Anybody ever compare the amount of resources consumed by driving
an old (say 20 years) car versus the amount of resources
consumed if the person driving that old car went through the
normal ownership cycle and bought a new car every 5 years
or so?  Do I smell a plot hatched by the auto industry to sell
more new cars?  Nah - they are just honestly concerned...

This is the same magazine that says Holley carbs are better than
Q-Jets for street cars and you believe this nonsense??
