TOCA rather nice fun...

Hi,

Just installed the demo of TOCA.

The first thing that struck me when I started the race is that the sound is
spot-on accurate. The high pitched whining engine sound, combined with VERY
realistic external sounds (gravel, RAIN etc.) all very nice.

Drivability is so-so, but it was my first run, so I'm not complaining,
joystick sensitivity might be too high, low-setting seemed to run a lot
better.

Graphics: nice, though***pit interior is ANCIENT. Wrong wrong wrong.
Better detail can and MUST be done. Nice touched are the real-time steering
and shifting, loved the windscreen-wiper.

Sim-value: first looks and run... pretty decent. Car's a bit shaky, wild,
but also quite solid on the track, even in the rain (Is this good?)

I must admit I only have followed DTM and STW so far, and seem a few BTCC
races. If I can drive an Alfa 155 I'm happy.

You can't. Only Renault, Audi, Honda, Ford, Peugeot, Vauxhall (opel), Nissan and
Volvo.
Maybe TOCA 2........

The major and only downfall IMHO, is that you cannot drive the ALFA'S!!!,
***Y TERRIBLE STATE OF AFFAIRS. I hope somebody can release a patch to
convert one of the Poo teams like the Ford's to Alfas, I will worship them.

How exactly is this a flaw? :)

Since no Alf a team last year in the Btcc. And btw- it's a shame that this
year the Btcc didn't use the Brands GP :(

You want Alfa's??  Head over to the USPits and check out their Touring Car patch for N2.  They
have painted British, German, Aussie and North American Car sets.  New sounds, dashes, etc.  A
very classy piece of work.
