NFS 3: where's the feeling of speed?

by Jeroen van Engelenhove » Tue, 01 Sep 1998 04:00:00

Is it me or is the NFS 3 demo (even with the 200 Mph hack) feeling slow? Or
did I drive Motorhead too much? That one really flies! I'm not talking about
FPS here (which is above 40) but the sence of speed. What are your opinions?

I agree, there's no sense of speed at all. They've not managed to
recreate the athmosphere of driving which was present in the original NFS
I game. It's almost like the Ford Mustang, which only grew bigger,
heavier and uglier by the years.

Besides, if I was the owner of the Lamborghini brand, I for sure wouldn't
license it to a game in which the V12 engine sounds like a detuned lawn-
mower...

BTW: I was stopped by the cops and a POLYGON/LEGO(tm) cop was standing
beside my car. Unfortunately, another car from behind crashed into his
car and the poor cop was overrun. Obviously a cop very dedicated to his
job, as he kept on babbling from underneath his car! :-)))))
