The recent departure of Mark Seery has stirred the Lotus camp in it's
foundations, as Chapman is left with only one driver mid season. The Lotus
team
was struggeling even prior to Seery's departure, with only Nesoen being able
to
regularly pick up points. And Nesoen was mumbling about taking a privateer
seat
in a Cooper (heard at the post race party this sunday): "I am good enough to
beat those guys (the Ferrari top drivers Jeangerard and Barlow) , and not
the
least it'd be great to show Chapman what driver material he disposes of. But
after hearing about Mark's [Seery] departure, I realize that leaving
Chapman
out in the cold, without any driver capable of scoring points [Here, Nesoen
could be heard to rant over how utterly slow the Loti privateers are], would
just be too much, and I am going to continue in the Lotus team". Later,
Nesoen
was heard to be letting out some steam after Barlow's first 5 laps:" If you
drive like that in front of me again, I am going to... switch to Ferrari
myself,
prying your fat arse out of that Enzo seat!".
On Seery's alleged "inferior chassis" at Zandvoort, and Enzo's high hopes
for
the irishman, Nesoen was very relaxed, and said: "I proved over and again
faster
than Seery, as the points clearly show, and it'd be nice to beat him in a
Ferrari as well. At Zandvoort I had plenty of speed in reserve, so I have no
worries about that. While we were together at chapman's we shared the same
dispise for the team boss, so we had something in common there. That's all
changed now, and I guess we will see several bouts in the upcoming races,
but
on second thought; maybe there won't be, I am faster than him, after all"
The closing of this season will be exciting for sure.
