Hmmm....  Wonder what he's talking about?  ;-)

-- From SpeedTV.com --

"The layout is very nice, from what I have seen. I actually have an old
computer game that is pretty similar except for the last turn, which has
been changed. Even though I haven't been to the track, I can already be
familiar with it because of the computer game."

DaMatta would have been about 14 to have bought it back then....

Tantra, who converts tracks for use with the F1 2kx sims/mods, has done a
modern rendition of the track...there is a slight change at the start and
the last turn is squared off to the inside.  Instead of a Parabolica like
half circle, the track takes a hard 90 degree turn right, then a short
straight witha 90 degreee turn left, then another short straight and a hard
right turn to rejoin the track just before Pit In.
THen most of the LOng LONG straight is cut-off and the track rejoins about
where the first esses are.

Either F1GP or GPL.  There is no substitute here ;)

Los Hermanos last turn was modeled after Riverside's infamous Turn 9, not
the Parabolica, and is quite steeply banked.  Since it had a rep as a
"killer" turn--and must've generated humungous g-loadings--it's no wonder
they chicaned it.  (You can see a plan view at CART's Web site.)  A better
alternative, IMO, would have been to flatten the banking.

It was already flat during the last F1 races ten years ago AFIR, but
they added that chicane to let the track go through the baseball
stadium and 35.000 more seats.

Apart that the baseball stadium make the corner blind at the middle making
it dangerous to the drivers.

Definitely, those 35,000 seats are a heavy reason too.

Cheers

It's called driver challenge on a proper racetrack. Blind corners and
off camber corners are part of the game.
