I swear I never knew how great riverside was until I took a Lotus49 around
it. Ive driven tons of laps w. the stockers, and cant begin to tell you
excellent Riverside is. A car stuck the the ground is never going to tell
you what a great track is. Nothin beats laps at Portland and the elevation
change b4, during, and after the corkscrew at Laguna, or the streets of
Toronto. I have flash backs of VGA ICR1/2 days while going through some
turns, and ofcourse the epitomy of it all is Indianapolis. I was so e***d
i pulled a 53.8 for my 4th lap, which im sure is slow, but for a quickly
re-geared, camber adj. Watkins Glen setup thats pretty fast. The track feels
huge! Running these different tracks from the orig. GPL tracks makes me
realize what a great physics model GPL is.
SIMPLY AWESOME DAVE, Thanks so much to you and everyone affiliated w.
this project.

36 hours and still no converter for me, and my credit card was billed so I
can't re-order it without paying for it twice.

Anyone have a warez location where I can get the converter I've already paid
for?

Is this it?  I'm tempted to e-mail him and complain about the ordering method.
I don't HAVE a credit card to order with, considering I'm only 16 years old...

Alright!  I got my grandfather to loan me his credit card for the moment, so I
could order the convertor!  I've already paid him back, don't worry.  :)  Now,
to wait (im)patiently...

Flash backs, that's the term I was looking for! It's simply amazing, and
I catch myself trying to drive slow enough to not slide through the
corners
to get the impression of driving a CART car on those tracks...

Bad thing of course, now I craving for CART2 even more!

Tracey, do you have any restrictions on your e-mail account in regards to
attachment size? It's a 2 Meg program.  Perhaps your ISP refused delivery ....

Even the Indianapolis Motor Speedway takes on a while new life with the
physics of GPL.
I can now appreciate a little better just what sort of job Clark and Hill
did back in 1965/1966 (and 1967, of course, but they weren't successful
then).

Yeah, Riverside is a blast.  I bought NASCAR Legends (actually, had it on the
Xmas list, and my wife bought it for me, but I digress) just so that I could
race at Riverside (although, I have been having fun racing the ovals lately ...
but, damn, I digressed twice in one sentence). Riverside is more suited for F1
cars, even the squirrely beasts of the 60's, than it is for stock cars.  The
addition of the tires to prevent the crazy short-circuiting of a couple of the
turns that plagues NL was a smart idea.  A great track.

If only NASCAR had used the full track back in 1970 we would be treated to
Riverside in all its glory. The version of the track used skips from turn 6 to
turn 8 via a short straight.  In the full track, turn 6 makes a 180 leading to
a downhill straight to turn 7, another 180, followed by another straight to
turn 8 (the turn before the back straight). I sat at turn 8 at the 1966 Times
Grand Prix (Can-Am) and had a nice view of that sequence.

I'm still waiting for CART Racing to arrive (ordered it directly from Papyrus),
so that I can race Laguna Seca and Elkhart Lake.  Can't wait.

Thanks to all (Dave Noonan, Alison Hine, Greger Huttu, etc.), for making this
possible.
