NeedForSpeed too sensitive?

Hi, my NFS reacts much too sensitive on my gravis jstick.
Because of this an expensive game is hardly playable.
Is there a workaround (f.e. adapted joystick.cfg file) or am
I just to avoid any driving simulator except F1GP sequels in
the future, trying to avoid throwoing away money.
How diffucult could it be to make a configuration program.
Perhaps in stead of all those childisch pictures.

Your not much of a car fanatic are you?  Why did you buy the
game then?  Childish?  Mmmm.  I sure never had a car like those
as a child.  Nor now come to that...

I cannot get any sound out of NFS, any suggestions?
