Rapid Line Industries donates Porsche Sports Car for raffle
A classic and expertly restored 1971 Porsche 911E coupe will be raffled
off by the Friends of the Rookery as part of a campaign to raise money
to build a nature park in Plainfield, IL. Rapid Line Industries
(www.rapidline.com), a local manufacture and international distributor
of automotive equipment and computer software donated the car to the
organization. This is an incredible contribution, it should help us
tremendously in meeting our fund raising goal, said Jack Heimerdinger,
who heads the raffle, "The company is demonstrating real public concern
and feels the nature park will be a great asset to the community".
Friends of the Rookery is a local group of concerned citizens, working
with the Forest Preserve District of Will County and Will County Audubon
Society plan to create a new 3.4 acre nature park. The park will be
adjacent to the Lake Renwick Heron Rookery Nature Preserve - one of the
largest nesting sites in our state. The site will provide one of the
best locations to observe the marvelous protected birds that migrate to
the area annually, many of which are on the endangered species list. The
park also will be an excellent place for teachers to bring students for
environmental education.
The Raffle drawing will take place on September 2, 1997. Raffle tickets
can be purchased by mail, the tickets are $25.00 each and only 3000
will be sold. Please send request and make check payable to:
Will County Audubon Society - F.O.R.
PO Box 1,
Plainfield, IL 60544.
Raffle certificates will be sent to purchaser by return mail.
