Is RBR available on CD in Australia ?

by hb » Fri, 15 Oct 2004 15:28:05

I ordered RBR rally on Monday - and when it arrived in was the DVD
version - a problem  when you don't have a DVD drive.  I complained to the
online retailer, and they agreed it wasn't labelled correctly (on their
website) so will refund my money.  But they say its only available as DVD.
Some of the other online retailers explicitly say they have a CD version -
but don't have any in stock (and never will if my retailer is correct).

So, what's the story ? Available on CD or not ? Anyone recommend an online
retailer to get the game from ?  Also, would be nice if they actually
delivered to your house instead of dumping it at the local post office
(which takes about an hour to go to/from/stand in line etc).

 TIA for any help.

AFAIK, there's no CD version available.  Just buy a DVD drive - they cost
almost nothing and you're going to have to get one eventually.

I got a CD version from www.gogamer.com

I would have rather had the DVD version.

As far as I know, regional coding is only applicable to standard
entertainment DVD players (for TV's), not for DVD-Rom drives for computers.

I haven't seen it locally on CD, but your other option is to pop a DVD drive
in your PC for around $40.  :)

I ordered my DVD copy from http://shop.game.net/ in the UK which I'm sure
had it on CD when I ordered (but they don't seem to now - or I'm looking in
the wrong place). I'm sure their support staff could help. I ordered mine
from them last Friday and it was delivered yesterday (Wednesday), so their
service is pretty speedy too.

Yeah, the Move DVD's have regions, Data (game and most software) DVD-CD's
dont.
