Well, you're right. F1 2002 requires a card with hardare T&L, which,
unfortunately rules out the Voodoo lineup. You could probably get a
Geforce2 MX or Radeon 7500 for about $50 and run F1 2002 just fine. I
know a $50 graphics card won't give you optimal FPS or the highest
quality at the highest detail settings, but it's still very playable.
Plus you can still play GPL just fine with the D3D patch. (Running a
Geforce2 MX 400 w/ Cel 850 here.)
If you want to do better, then look at the Geforce4 MX440 DDR or jump
up to a Radeon 8500 or 9000. Not much more $ nowadays and definitely
a speed improvement, even without a CPU upgrade.
