It's ashame NFS5 doesnt support the shifter.  That's the one game I
was really hoping would support it.  I could care less if Nascar 3
supports the shifter.  I personally dont so much shifting in N3.  :)
I kinda wish I hadn't bought the shifter now.  I'm afraid either it
will loose its 'newness' and the game developers will forget about
supporting it, or by the  time it starts being supported, it can be
bought for half the price I paid for it.  I've had the thing for 3
months and haven't even used it yet!

Brian, I don't think it will lose support. If anything, more games are
putting in support for it now and I suspect that they will from now on.
Probably more wheels will start coming out with something to try to match
it.  I think it's here to stay. So, why don't you use it to shift? Do you
drive in automatic? Lot's of us find it fun to use even in regular legacy
mode, and all games support that. I personally hated it the first week I
used it. Let's face it, it feels different than any other stick shifter
mounted on a wheel. After a week, it was okay, and now I just plain enjoy
it. I even changed the  way it mounts so it's lower and closer to me. It
feels so natural that my lap times are better than ever. Give it a try, it
won't cost you any more ;-)

Rally championship 2000 uses the full shifter (1-7 + R) in fact for this
particular game it is probably faster to drive automatic because you end up
shifting all the time but it is GREAT fun, and a good game if you have a
powerful machine.

Actually, I was fastest with the shifter amazingly. I set the record on SS2
in Manx because of the shifter. (It was 6:56 or sumthin) It helps you to
become VERY consistant. Like I even have a pattern for square corners. At
about 100 meters before the square corner (lets use a right hand turn for
example), I I brake and slide right, shift into 2nd, then lift off the brake
and slide left, shift into 1st, then whip it around the corner. I did my
fastest time in Clacaenog with the Shifter too, a 9:54 I think it was.

Thanks,
Alex

I've got Mobil 1 Rally Championship.  Is that the same one?  There are
so many of them lately...
