It does LOOK good, but have you HEARD it? Awesome is the best word to
describe it. Tom Pabst might not even be able to improve on these
sounds. Check out the .wav files on the dtr.discussion group on news

Now ask yourself why GT are publishing it under Wizard Works and not their
main label? Are they worried that the title will only appeal to gearheads
perhaps?

What do you know of GT?   You need to study up on this company.  Do you
know that they published Driver and Powerslide under their GT Interactive.
Do you
know that they own the rights to IRL for publishing games in the very near
future.  Do
you know they are committed as a company to on-line racing with management
structure with those future titles in place.  NO i would say that WW was
just dam
lucky to get the DTR title and I am glad for you.  Otherwise it would be a
$49.99
title vs $19.99.   GT has become a major force in motorsports simulations.
But you
had a good questions. hehe.. Look at all the information you got out of me.

What do I know of GT other than having had dealings with them on a number
of levels over the last few years? Well I know Wizard Works is their
"Lets take a stab at this" label used when they don't want to risk the
farm or their rep on a marginal title. Look at Head Games and Activision
and you'll see the same thing.

Driver and Powerslide are mass market titles not "gearhead" titles. As
for the IRL license, well, there's no guarantee that will be released on
the GTi label, it's well within their rights to publish it under WW
branding. In fact I suspect it will go here rather than the "premium"
brand so it's cheap and all the Wal-Mart and Target people can get their
IRL fix.

GT has *not* become a force in sims despite your assertion because Driver
is the closest they've come to a sim for some time. In any case, if
they're doing so well how come they're looking for a buyer after terrible
results recently (yes I know it's because of slipping titles and I know
which titles too).

I'll tell why DTR is being done by WW and not front line GT. We are two
different companies and we went to Ratbag first. We did not get our marching
orders from GT front line nor have we in the past. Don't compare us to Head
Games, you can come up with a better insult than that. :)

They don't own a stake in WW? Well all apologies, my information was a
bit wide of the mark. As for comparing you with Head Games... yeah... it
is a bit below the belt ;)
