No, I don't mean you feel like shooting yourself after driving, I mean
I've just had the most sim-driving fun I've had for years: a night race at
the 'Ring against the AI in my little mini. You think you know the 'Ring?
Ok, now turn the lights off and the headlights on! :-)

I may have struggled to get satisfaction from LFS S2 and rFactor, but a
few hours into my GTL experience I've already found an extremely broad
grin that won't wear off.

Thanks for those who pointed me in this direction.

Oh, I think we all have :-)

It's not that accurate but it's still a hell of a lot more fun than driving
GT4 around the 'ring.  As much as I love Minis, I'm not sure they're the
most fun car for that track.  I'm totally captivated by driving the 911
around 'the mother' at the moment. =)

Oh and I've just discovered that turning off automatic clutch in GTL also
disables auto-cut and auto-blip which makes it even more fun.

So far I've resisted the "cheats" to get a little mileage out of the mini.
But having won enough (at amateur level :-) to buy a Lotus Elan, it seems
only fitting I should take that to the Ring... which I'm now seeing from
all sorts of new angles, mainly sideways and upside down.

I hope someone comes up with a hack for the very in your face '3, 2, 1...
Go' start though. I really hate that.

Excellent, thanks. I suppose if I'd done more than no research whatsoever
I might have found it for myself. ;-)

I think there's also a GUI setting for that from which I managed to turn
the countdown off. However I sometimes wish I hadn't esp. after skipping
qualifying and going straight to the race in a 20-field cup race... very
hard to see the starting lights from there, and I usually judge by the
AI's brake lights (or lack thereof) when the flag has dropped.

cheers, uwe

Or watch the in car lap clock to go from dashes to numbers - that's
easier for me than making out some of the smaller brake lights.

I didn't really follow the development and release of this game too
closely, err at all... so forgive me if this is a dumb question.  Does the
game come with the full Nordschleiffe by default?  Thanks.

Err, nevermind, sorry.  I just read a different message which answered my
question.  I have to remind myself not to post when I'm so tired...
