I can only speak from my experience; 233mmx, 64 mg ram, millenium 2 video
board. When I first loaded GP2, I also had a matrox m3d installed, bought in a
moment of weakness<g>. Three months ago I installed a Pure3D with no visible
change in GP2. The best thing you can do for that sim is get as much  processor
as you can afford!  One o'those new P2 333's  would be nice! Rather like
driving a Ferrari instead of a Forti!

Why would anyone expect an increase in framerate in GP 2 with a 3d accelerator? GP2
doesn't use 3d acceleration, unless you guys have some special version that I'm not
aware of? Just checking....

I never said I did...someone asked and in my own convoluted way I was trying to
say, as you did, that Voodoo video cards have no bearing on frame rate in GP2.
Sorry you misunderstood. I bought the Pure 3D for one thing only...F1RS, at
least until GPL arrives!

If you strap your GP2 engine into your Ferrari PII 333, it's like
putting a VW engine in a real Ferrari.  Even trying to run GP2 on PII
300 on isn't going to get much more frames per second, let alone much
more in the eye-candy department.
