Got to admit I wasn't paying much attention, but they actually had 2 in
helmet cams !!!
I'm not sure how the view compared with the driver's but it did make it look
very fast, very low and much bumpier than you get in sims. It was good to
see where the driver was actually looking too, leaning and looking towards
the apex's.

They have had those camera's for a couple of years now.  Sometimes they
present a rather poor view, and others, like Sunday, you get a nice picture
of what the driver sees.   Vancouver is a bumpy track, plus wind buffeting,
it's a wonder they can see apex's at all.

Maybe we should all go out and buy dead cheap monitors to make the view more
realistic :-)

Yes, I was at both the Toronto and the Vancouver races (I live in
Vancouver).  When they show the view from the visorcam on the huge
jumbotron it is pretty cool!!

After a weird start, it was a pretty good race. I can't believe CART let
Junquiera lead for 24 laps before they finally made up their minds he had
actually jumped the start... it was pretty clear to me and all the people
sitting around me.

I was in section B2 row 1 (bronze). Where were you sitting?

Go Paul!

I was in the Bell Mobility Village (row 1) right at the Start/Finish
line so I saw the obvious error by the race marshall.   Couldn't
believe he waved the green flag!

I am not sure if you saw it (it wasn't well publicized during or after
the race) but in the next 2 laps following the start, at the
Start/Finish line, Tracy gave the finger to the marshall twice!  In
fact, the fellow sitting beside me managed to get a perfect shot of it
on his digital camera.  Now I wish I had given him my email address so
that he could email a copy of the picture.  This would be a keeper for
sure!

My wife was totally pissed off at Dominguez for his stupid move on
Carpentier.  She is a #32 fan and we were all hoping for a Players
Team 1,2 finish.  But at least we got #1 with Paul!

Now if I can only figure out a way to be in Montreal in late August I
could complete the Canadian Molson Indy trio!

On Eurosport, the race feed went dead after half distance, so we only got to
see the dumb move on Tagliani.  Anything else exciting happen in the second
half?

"Stephen F."
Several more 'dumb' moves by several of the back markers....Tracy's
teammate, Carpentier, got removed by the same method....

I sure would like to see if Manning would have more speed in a top flight
Lola...

Hey Spudster

I was at the race sitting in Silver5 stands - end of the straight at turn 6.
IMHO there were an awful lot of really bad "official" calls over the
weekend.  The start was unbeleivable... Junkie had such a huge jump over
Tracy...why was the green even shown!?!?

I watched Dominguez "harpoon" Carpentier (running second) while Dominguez
was running TWO LAPS down!  Crazy - and they didn't even give him a
drive-through for doing it (or did they?).

Did you guys watch the Barber Dodge race?
Terrible call on Dan Dileo.... he's leading the race and then has the second
place guy make a "never going to happen" attempt to pass on the sweeper and
when Dan turns in toward the apex (staying completely on the racing line)
the 2nd place car spins (not sure whether there was even contact or not) and
they penalize Dan with a drive-through!!!   Yah....  you don't want the
leader of the race "using the racing line" do ya!?!?!?

Lots of questionable calls from the CART officials if you ask me.

Cheers
<Mike>

Hey Mike, I was sitting right to your left in the first set of stands
between T6 and 7. You should have been able to see me jumping up and down
swinging my fists looking for some CART officials to beat on. Along the
entire straight in front of us (where the support pit is), there was not a
single CART safety person or official to be seen! Why did they leave that
piece of wing laying on T6 exit until someone finally hit it and turned it
into a millions little shards? Apparently no CART personnel saw it? There
were many opportunities that someone could have removed it from the track
without being in danger. After this race I'm convinced that stupidity is
"job 1" for CART.

Spudster.
