NEW! Thomas E. Wheels "A Bit OT"

Hello All; {First this is a little Off Topic & I apologize}
I have been corresponding with Dave Jr & Tevor' for the
last 4+ days.. I've been told that Thomas Enterprises will
have new wheels as soon as they can finish development.
As per my request they already have a working 'Thomas'
wheel with analog paddles. It is basically done.. For me;
this is fantastic news and anyone who can't use their feet
nor legs send an email to the address below.
They're also developing an FF wheel.. Yes you diehard
FF sim racers. You too will have a wheel as soon as all
the kinks are smoothed out.
So for all the "ney" sayers about Thomas Enterprises do
your homework before complaining... When a question
or any problem has to be addressed I go directly to the
source . Try it! It works!
You must remember this is a small company of 6 and
to maintain the quality they do is not a 9 to 5 job.. It's
extremely hard to compete against the large CHs and
Thrusmasters in the world. So lighten up!!
Finally; I am posting this by myself & I receive nothing
from Thomas Enterprises.. I dont want anything. I feel
they've been beat into the ground enough & I wanted
to say they appear to be a good small company. This
is not a solicitation nor an endor***t for Thomas E
but a personal post from myself! So please flame me
not Thomas Enterprises.
All disables who have an interest in an anolog paddle
wheel; Please send your emails directly to:

Thank you r.a.s. for your space & r.a.s readers for
your time.. Cheers Thomas E Johnson II.

"A bit more OT";
My brother just visited from Germany, and while I was showing
him GPL and F1RS he mentioned that Shumacker is a huge
star over there, constantly in the news.  He said the buzz is that Shumacker
wants to get a wheel with built in throttle and brake
so that he can still race, even with a broken leg.

Whether or not he can use the throttle may not be what keeps him out of
competition.  He needs to be able to get out of the car in 15 seconds (I
think - correct me if I'm wrong) in order to get the go ahead to race.
That might be tough with a cast on your leg...

But we are talking about Michael Schumacher here, so Im sure the F1 Mafia
will help the FIA decide to let him race whatever he pass or not the
15second out-of-cockpit safety test.  Im serious here !

5 seconds...

and charlie whiting (medical cheif/technical chief fia) made ricardo zonta
jump up and down on the spot before letting him into a car, the pain was too
much, so he rested a while longer....he broke his legs in brazil earlier
this year.

Michael doesn't have a cast, he has internal fixation with plates and
screws. The doctors may have ordered a brace for the leg, but he didn't
appear to be wearing it during his interview last sunday. They would be
trying to keep the leg as mobile as possible to keep any loss of muscle
strength to a minimum. He does have one problem which could slow his
recovery time somewhat, he mentioned that his heel was injured which might
require him to stay off of his feet and slow his rehab.

Who cares?  In F1 it's just the car.  Eddy Irvine seems to be
quite good enough to accompany it to victory.  If his car breaks even
Salo will do.  Of course if the McLaren is "on" even Schumacher can't
get the Ferrari there.  And nobody else has a prayer if _either_ a
McLaren or a Ferrari is healthy.

Well, there's another way of looking at it of course: since these are
the very best drivers in the world, they're all driving extremely close
to the limit of the cars, so in the end it's the cars that make the most
difference.

BTW, on his showing in the German GP, Salo is already better than Eddie
Irvine even though it's only his second race in the car!

I guess David Coulthard's performances this year show that the driver
can make a big difference - which is unfortunate for him and Hakkinen!

I wish I could get a straight answer on this subject.  I'd like to buy a
high quality FF wheel.  I currently own a Logitech Wingman Formula Force
and it works great, but I would like the heft a quality wheel provides.

Thomas.... are you or are you not working on a force feedback wheel?  If
you are, thank you and good luck.

And the announcers on Speedvision were all OVER Coulthard for his recent
mistakes...tough crowd.
I *am* surprised that he was re-signed, though.  I thought his career was OVER
at Austria... :-)

To be honest it was even more obvious at Hockenheim that he simply isn't
in the same class as Hakkinen - I know it's tough to overtake in F1, but
he had a much faster car than those he was trying to overtake and just
couldn't do it (he lost his front wing trying to overtake one guy and
was then given a stop-go penalty for cutting the course when he overtook
another one), whereas when Hakkinen lost 20 seconds at a pitstop he
managed to overtake several cars with ease.

DC seems to be able to lap at almost the same speed, but he's much more
accident-prone and isn't as good at overtaking.

I'd say his tactical nous is pretty non-existent as well!

On the other hand he has that racing-driver's chin (remember Peter
Perfect in Wacky Races?) - that's probably what swung it for him!  ;-)
