MGPRS2 - Tyre wear and altering fuel loads?

by Steve Pay » Fri, 20 Nov 1998 04:00:00

Hi all,

Can someone tell me whether in MGPRS2 they have fixed the following
(or introduced another mode)...

In F1RS and in particular Time attack mode it did not induce tyre wear
or allow you to vary fuel quantities - Has this been fixed or have
they introduced a winter testing mode?  i.e. Car setup testing without
having to enter a race weekend.

Finally do they allow you to start and end in the pits or do they
still start you just prior to the last turn?

By their own admission they call it a simulation and yet they did not
allow for any of the above points.

I'm not trying to say whether F1RS or GP2 were better than each other
here, both had endearing points but I did prefer GP2's testing mode.
i.e. start in the pits, give the signal and away we go.  When finished
drive back into the pits and up on the jacks.  It felt more real.

Any feedback welcome - email or follow up post.

To the first: No, Time attack isn't really different.  But I don't see it
needing a "fix".  I think you don't get what time attack is supposed to be, a
serious of laps in an identically behaving car, where you just try to get
faster and faster.  If you want wear, etc, why not just run in practice mode?

Ditto for your second Q.

Again, this is available in other modes.  This isn't what time attack is
about.

Same answer.
