Why do you think that settles the graphics dispute?
Actually it even proves the point that the backdrops are cool but the
cars are shitty. Also it doesn't show that the water textures on the
street are only drawn about 20 meters ahead of the car, with a very
visible and distracting step to the normal textures. Or that in the
***pit view, your tyres look like they were shrinkwrapped in plastic,
and seem to rotate below that "plastic" which apparently stands still
(this is btw caused by the poor reflection or specular lighting
implementation, which is not getting filtered).

That is of course just a preliminary impression, I'm pretty sure all
that and more has been greatly improved in the last 7 weeks. :-)

The game itself is nice, just don't tell me the graphics are.

I find it difficult to remain polite here, but I'll only say: "the
quality of the graphics depends on personal TASTE primarily" That is
ONE thing I am absolutely sure of after reading this mail!!!

Things like that the graphics are pretty pixaleted at times, that the
water textures are drawn at close range only or the "plastic wrapped"
tyres are _not_ a matter of taste, they exist. Taste comes in to play
when you gonna decide whether you like it or not.

You do, I don't; why should it be hard to remain polite about this?
