GP 2 - Release Date

GP 2 - Release Date

Is GP2 still due for release on the 28th of June or has it been put off
again. If it hasn't then there is only three days to go but I am hardly
holding my Breath. Does anybody know what the minimum system requirement
is for Vga without any textures. Also does anybody know what has
happened to Wilf Van Der Deijl and his webpage.

Today I phoned Electronic boutique, Dawson st, Dublin and they said
definitly 28th June, However I asked Game on Grafton st. They said
July 20th. I guess that means no one has a clue when it will be
released, so guessing is useless.

His pages are still there this morning (Jun 28). Perhaps the server
his pages live on went down for a while?

I think he means the web pages haven't been updated for over 3 months. Maybe
Wilf now works for Microprose ;). Though I have seen his weekly reminder still
popping up. From Time to Time.

Microprose marketing is reported to have said they will not release GP2 until
Christmas 1996 as this is a much better (profitable time) to release a major
title.

   I think what was being referred to is that the pages were last changed
on April 28th. Wilf - are you still around?

Sadly by then it will no longer be state of the art, and everyone will
have long since got pissed off with them. Pirate copies will be all over
the 'net, and not the sad very early beta that's there at the moment.
There will be competing products on the market taking GP2's sales, and
all in all it would be a very BAD time to release it.

I've heard it rumoured that this may be the date, but not from MPS
themselves. All I can say is that I hope they watch this newsgroup and
realise what a disaster that would be....

IT'S OUT GUYS!. well I'm 90% sure I'll have it Monday. I'll post again
on monday to see if it's real?.
