Brake Lights and Speed Indicator Post Below

Guys.....

Thanks to all of you who made constructive posts about those subjects.

I didn't intend however to start a "string" on those topics with regard to
their "need" .......I kind of thought that would be "obvious".......maybe
not?

What I did intend:  Was to get a *dialogue* going on how to get a speed
indicator and brake lights into the "sim" for online racing......toggle them
or not......it doesn't matter.  I know this is "cheat" to some degree.....in
that it's not written in to the "game" programming.....but it makes online
racing more "playable"....and that's my intent.

So, maybe below this *post*....we could get some input from those of you who
are familiar with the GPL programming......how to get a speed indicator in
the***pit view....and how to put the "brake application" data on all cars?
Can it be done?  If not, why?   If yes, how?

I offered the "video card or sound card" only as an "incentive" for some one
to go to work on this idea.......too many people (Jack Rambo is a prime
example) are spending a ton of their personal time to make gpl.....and many
other sims......more enjoyable for everyone.  Sure, I realize they do this
of their own choice....that its sort of a "labor of love" and a way that
they enjoy their hobby of online racing.  That in and of itself however,
shouldn't preclude them from being compensated somehow when they come up
with something that has such universal appeal.....that everyone wants it.
The "pressure" of producing your "invention" for mass consumption goes
beyond the "hobby" issue......that is what we should compensate them
for.....not the "idea" itself.  -  Sorry for the *editorial*...but I have
some strong opinions about that topic I guess?
