3dmark2001 try it yet ?

I just downloaded it and it forced me to install direct x 8
welll i've been putting it off and off
and now i know why
first off 3dmark2001 is in one word sweet !!!!!!
now since installing dx 8 i ran the benchmark in 3dmark2001 i get a whopping
1700 points ??
i'm like what !!!
ok my system is asus a7v mb 512ram
geofoce 2 gts pro 32DDR
and a AMD 1ghz
your saying how does he get that low  ??
well i dont know thats why im asking for help
i'm using 4.29 drivers for the MB and win me OS and 6.49 nvedia drivers
now before i installed DX 8 i had DX 7.1 and when running 3dmark2000 i use
to get 7200 at 1024X768X16
now i run it and i get 2700
what gives ???????????
any help would be appreciated !!

P.s luckily for me N 4 still is around 40-70fps
with everything turned on high except mirror

Yeah I tried it, some amazing examples of graphics in games to come.

I don't think you can compare 3dmark 2K scores with 32mark 2K1.

Was getting 4800 with 2k now with 2k1 I'm 2086.

AMD 1Ghz
MSI g2 mx
MSI mb
128 pc100 sdram
sb live

Test run at 1024x768 16 bit color.

I get 1580 on k7-850+voodoo3.  When they have a game where I can walk thru a
field of grass with the wind blowing thru the trees and watch a herd of
brachiosauri meandering by, then I'll be quite happy.  Maybe next year :)

It's a wild benchmark test, stunning graphics.  I had a 2956 score but the
test blew
off three things that my GeForce2 GTS won't support.  Frame rates for low
detail
were always at least half as opposed to high detail.  That village in
"Dragothic" is
VERY cool and the Matrix like "Lobby" has an incredible polished floor
reflection
like I've never seen.  Time to ditch the Pentium route and start down the
Athlon
path... I have seen the future and it is graphics intense.  Thanks MadOnion.

I dont' think I'd be too concerned about the numbers there.. I had the
same thing here.. Dropped from 5600 in the 2000 version to 2400 in the
2001 version, without changing a thing!

I'd just worry about how it compares to others using the same
version.. From what I see here, I have more tweaking to do than you at
this point :)

3310 points with default setting (1024x768 32 bits) on my system :)


256 MB PC133 Mhz CAS3 ram running 154Mhz and CAS 2 (i'm lucky)

I tried it yesterday and I got a 981 with my new machine here at work.   A
Dell Dimension 4100.

1 Ghz Pent III
512M Ram
Creative labs Geforce2 Ultra 64M card

I ran the benchmark at the default settings (I think that's the same
1024x768x16 that you ran it at, FSAA off) and got 1981 with a:
Geforce 1 DDR
AMD 600Mhz
128MB PC100 SDRSM
SB LIVE!

Weird that your score was so close to mine. Maybe your test ran with FSAA.
