Surf on over to http://www.racesimcentral.net/ and read the reviews of both
cards. I think that will be more than enough to explain his answer. Seems as
though he was just being honest(wow, now there is a shocker, an honest
salesman<G>).

Total BS. Tom has proven he was payed off by NVIDIA. His columns are
totally biased and you better look around. The TNT2 is nothing but a
overclocked TNT. And there is STILL nothing that can touch the V3 as
it is right now.

That is BS.

Ati Rage 128 and TNT (not TNT2) allready beats out V3 in 3dmark99maxm and
they look SO much better then the poor 256x256 textures of the V3, and the
colors are can not be compared !
Look at the high resolution textures, over 8 megs the voodoo is DEAD ! about
10fps...... or less

Guys,
Last I checked, this is a ng about racing simulators.  Can you comment on how
these cards perform in present sims, or perhaps the relevance of their
respective features to future sims?  Please, please, leave the bickering,
religious wars, and inuendo on and by the self-proclaimed net-pundits (and
their favoratism) to where it "belongs", the video ng.
Thanks.

Hey, how does it run in GAMES?  Does the TNT run GPL or NASCAR 99 better
than V2 or V3?  Or Rendition?  That's all that matters, not a ton of
features that aren't used in anything, may very well not mean anything in
99% of games shipped this year, and a lot of meaningless benchmarks.  Stop
screaming about all these useless tests on websites, I've yet to see very
many where they show numbers in sims, and until the cards ship it doesn't
matter anyways.

I DO NOT care if other people buy a TNT2 or something other than a 3dfx
card, BUT if they ask for product advice like the original poster and get
misinformation that the V3 is "shite" when it runs many racing sims
EXTREMELY well I'm gonna put in my 2 cents.  I'd hate to see somebody skip
over a card that will work perfectly well for them to get one based on a ton
of benchmarks, then come back here and wonder why it doesn't do so well in
the games they play.  We went through this last year, when the TNT got
recommended a lot to RAS folks, ignoring that 3dfx and Rendition do very
well for support in this area and a lot of games wouldn't run accelerated on
the TNT.  It doesn't make TNT a bad card, but it sure is something not to
ignore if you really want to play Nascar 99 or GPL accelerated.  If it runs
all the games you want then that's a non-issue.

A lot of us are posting real-life experience with Voodoo2 and Voodoo3 cards,
and this can be useful for those making a purchasing decision.  A lot of
other people are quoting press releases and beta hardware test reports about
other products.  I'd take anything on the 'net with a grain of salt anyways,
but I think real-life experience is much more useful - I'm not going to
guarantee anything, but with a similar system you should experience similar
results to mine.  With all the people talking about future products and
benchmarks, they can't even confirm what they're saying since they haven't
seen any of it first hand.  I hope all the TNT2 experts are this vocal when
the card is out and people need some kind of help with it.
